Backend Engineer (Node.js and TypeScript)

Our client projects need APIs that other people can trust. You will design and build them in Node.js and TypeScript on top of PostgreSQL, usually next to a frontend developer who depends on what you ship.

You will own the unglamorous parts that decide whether a product holds up: authentication, validation, background jobs, rate limits, and what happens when a third-party service goes down.

Day to day:

• Design REST endpoints and document them
• Model data and write migrations
• Integrate payment, email and messaging providers
• Build background jobs and scheduled tasks
• Add logging and alerts so problems show up before clients report them

• 3 to 5 years building backend services
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript
• PostgreSQL or another relational database, including indexes and query tuning
• Experience with authentication and authorization
• Comfortable with Git, code review and automated tests

Nice to have:

• Redis, queues or event-driven design
• Docker and a basic CI pipeline
• Experience with Stripe or similar payment APIs
